Utility Bill Payment
In Person
We offer a drop box in front of City Hall that is checked daily at 8:00 AM (Please, no cash in the Drop Box). You may also come into city hall to make a payment at 3644 Highway 42, Locust Grove, GA 30248.
Online
Avoid late charges by paying online with online bill management and payment. Please be patient as we are still working with our software vendor for a system-wide upgrade to allow all types of bill management and payment. There is no longer a convenience fee for online bill payments.
Due Dates
Bills are due on the 15th of the month (or by 8:00 AM of the next business day). Late fees will be assessed on the morning of the next business day of 10%. All sums must be paid by the 19th to avoid disconnection and additional fees on the 20th. There is a disconnect / re-connection fee of $50.00. See payment options above.
Note: if making a payment in person, it is highly recommended to be in City Hall within the first 10 - 15 minutes of opening, as once all outstanding payments are posted from the prior evening, there is no guarantee of service disruption and/or additional fees.
Rate Increase
Effective every July 1 and January 1, our rates increase 2% across the board on water and sanitary sewer. New rates in the August/February billing will show the new rates, including the rates for larger meters of commercial customers. Rates adjust automatically account for inflation and cover costs of expansion and repairs to the system. In late 2019, the Council voted to keep rates steady with 2019 rates through July 2020 and have remained at those prevailing rates as we evaluate costs and new billing schedule to be announced in Late 2024. Due note that Sanitation Rates are increasing to $15.50 beginning October 1, 2022 and will increase fifty cents ($0.50) per month on each January 1 and July 1 through 2024 as we continue to absorb large increases from our trash service vendor. The City has not increased the sanitation rate since late 2008.
